Best Practices in Real Estate

Uncategorized Jan 24, 2020

It's not tax season yet, but every one of your clients is starting to receive tax documents in the mail. This presents a perfect opportunity to reach out.

Clients who bought or sold real estate in 2019 will need a copy of their closing settlement statements when preparing their tax returns. Many agents send copies to their clients, but here's an idea to go above and beyond.

Include an envelope or folder labeled "2019 Tax Receipt & Documents" - with your info too - so your clients have a place to stash all of the statement that they'll be receiving up until tax time. One of our members even shared a checklist she includes that explains which documents you need, and how long to keep them. Include a cover letter with your wishes for a prosperous year filled with lots of deductions! What a great touch that NO ONE else is doing (except for Agents of Excellence)
